Keemun Mao Feng
Qimen, Anhui, China
Spring 2011 Harvest
This sumptuous and satiating black tea hails from Qimen in the province of Anhui, China, where it was skillfully rolled into elegantly twisted leaves featuring caramel-coloured tips.
A classic English Breakfast tea, Keemun’s tealeaves bear rich and refined aromas of bittersweet chocolate, dry firewood and hints of leather and white flowers. The copper-hued brew offers abundant, winy flavours of stewed apples, cocoa and warming spices. Its smooth, full flavour finishes clean with lingering cocoa-apple sweetness. Delicious!
As a beverage that pairs effortlessly with breakfast foods ranging from Nutella crepes to maple turkey/soy bacon, this enchanting and invigorating black tea is, perhaps, the perfect start to your day. It’s also incredible as a post-dinner quaff alongside spiced apple pastries or dark chocolate desserts.
